Paulo Roberto Coimbra Silva

Professor of Tax Law in the Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctorate programs at the Law School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He has been a guest professor at the Faculté de Droit of the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), the Facultat de Dret of the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), and Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC). He has also taught at PUC Minas’ Faculdade Mineira de Direito, Fundação João Pinheiro (FJP), the Instituto de Educação Continuada (IEC), and postgraduate programs in Public Law at the Court of Justice and the former Court of Appeals of the State of Minas Gerais.

He served as an advisor to the 1st Civil Chamber of the Court of Justice of the State of Minas Gerais (TJMG) and was a member of the Tax Policy Council of the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG). He is also a member of the Legislative Merit Order of the State of Minas Gerais. Additionally, he is affiliated with national and international institutions, including the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the Instituto Latinoamericano de Derecho Tributario (ILADT), and the Brazilian Association of Tax Law (ABRADT). He serves as a counselor at the Brazilian Association of Financial Law (ABDF) and is a former academic coordinator of the Business Law Alliance (Alae).

He has been a keynote speaker at various seminars in Brazil and abroad and is the author of numerous books and articles published in national and international specialized journals. He also serves as an ambassador for the Instituto Capitalismo Consciente Brasil (ICCB). For years, he has been recognized as one of the most influential figures in Minas Gerais, according to the prestigious Revista Mercado Comum.

He has received notable recognition for his work in tax, social security, and customs law, being ranked among the leading lawyers in both national and international directories. In the Análise Advocacia ranking, he has consistently been ranked in 1st place nationally among the most admired lawyers in Social Security Law (funding) and in the Automotive sector; 2nd place in Tax Law and as a specialist in São Paulo; 1st place as a specialist in Minas Gerais. Additionally, he is among the most admired lawyers in the Banking, Pulp and Paper, Technology, and Construction & Engineering sectors, among others.

He is also recognized by Chambers and Partners (since 2014), Legal 500 (since 2016), Best Lawyers (since 2019), and Who’s Who Legal – Lexology (since 2023). Alongside his fellow partners, his firm has achieved Recommended Firm status from Latin Lawyer National (since 2019) and World Tax Review – ITR (since 2020).
